Week 3: Soul - Day 3: Fuel

How can you pour out God’s love to others, if you are not allowing yourself to be filled with God’s love first?

This vicious cycle becomes draining, and we realize our weakness more profoundly, when we continue to try to give of ourselves when we are not filled first.

Quite simply, God is our fuel. Through Christ’s sacrifice, God brings us Jesus here on earth to receive Him in the Eucharist to be our fuel. I mean, He IS the Bread of Life, makes sense why He’d be our fuel.  2 Corinthians 12:9 makes this clear, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

“My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Admitting we are weak can become a challenge for our human pride. But is not admitting our faults, our weaknesses, and asking God to fill us with His everlasting Mercy and Love the basis of the sacraments?

Today ask yourself, have I allowed Jesus’ Grace to satisfy me completely? Do I believe that He is and will be sufficient for me? Have I admitted I am weak? Have I asked God to fill me with His Strength- not that He will do the hard things for me, but that He will give me the strength to act?

In His strength,

Christine
